At the center is a 6mm cushion cut pink sapphire with an inviting, pastel-bubble gum pink color. The sapphire is better than eye clean and has an excellent cut, and these both result in a very lively gem. There are 0.53 carats of diamonds in the ring and the diamond halo surrounding the sapphire really draws the eye in. There are 16 brilliant cut round diamonds set around the sapphire and 6 on each side of the band. The setting has an open basket design which allows a lot of light to pass through and reflect from the sapphire. The overall design is simple and classic and for someone that is looking for a eye-catching piece without an ornate design, this particular style is an ideal choice. The profile (height of the stone off the finger) is just under 1/4" which makes this truly a wearable work of art.The basket of the setting tapers so that a contoured wedding band could be worn with this ring.
