First, the Ceylon sapphire we feature is a spectacular 2 carat cushion cut gem with a beautiful, rich cornflower blue hue, one of the best colors a sapphire can have. It looks amazing in low light and bright light (not something you can say about all sapphires!). The cutting is very well done and the color is uniform throughout the stone. It is also eye clean. We love the cushion cutting, which is very hard to find these days in sapphires 2 carats and above. The setting we have used is one of our favorites. It is both substantial in terms of gold weight and diamond presence and delicate with the filigree detail and milgrain edging which lends a vintage feel to the design. Hi Patricia! Just wanted to let you know the "tag has come off" and the ring is officially on my finger for good. I took it to a jeweler this morning to take a quick look at it and make sure everything looked good. He confirmed everything and said it was a gorgeous stone and amazing cut (which of course we knew.) Thanks so much with all of your help through this process!!! I am so very happy. It is the most beautiful blue ever (and for a person who loves the color blue, that is high praise). Both mine and my fiance's birthdays are in September, so having the sapphire as our engagement ring makes it a more meaningful and symbolic to us than a standard diamond. I love it.
