The sapphire is from Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and sapphires from this region are known for their medium toned, cornflower blue hue. This little beauty is no exception. The size of the sapphire is also wonderful. At nearly 2 carats, it will have presence on the finger without being too large for every day wear. We love the pear shape, something we don't see very often in sapphire. The sapphire has a nice cut and is eye clean. And it is nearly loupe clean too. The trillion side stones nicely balance the design and create that symbolic past, present, future look.
