It is from Sri Lanka (formerly known as Ceylon) and this location is known to produce some of the world's most beautiful sapphires. The sapphire is just over 3 carats in size and has a gorgeous light-medium banana yellow hue. This gem definitely reminds us of a fancy yellow diamond! The setting is simple but definitely not boring. The 4 substantial prongs hold the gem securely so this is one ring you will be most comfortable wearing and enjoying on a daily basis. The profile of the setting is also low (at 1/4") which means the ring won't get in the way of daily activities. The ring has a geometric feel with the square shaped basket, and round diamonds set in square and marquise shaped stations. Small ribbed accents complete the look.There are three choices for the matching wedding band. The contoured ring is notched to sit flush against the engagement ring. The straight band has a single row of diamond stations that match the engagement ring and has a small sizing bar at the back. The straight eternity band has diamonds that go all the way around.
