Heat treatment of rubies is an age-old, standard, industry accepted, and permanent treatment designed to generally improve clarity and color of rubies. Almost all rubies used in jewelry are heat treated. Unheated rubies are very rare and expensive.

Additional Notes: Our rubies are NOT glass filled, nor diffused. These treatments significantly reduce the value of a ruby.
