Everything about the sapphire from the size, color, clarity, cutting and the brilliance ranks right up there with the finest sapphires in the world. At just over 4 1/2 carats in size, this is a substantial and important gem. The sapphire is also completely clean, natural and untreated/unheated. Fewer than 1% of sapphires used in jewelry are unheated and an even smaller percentage are this large and completely clean! This fine gemstone has a fabulous lemony-banana color, without the golden or grayish tones that diminish the beauty and value of the stone. This is one of the finest yellow sapphires that we have ever offered. This stone is so magnificent that we wanted to create a unique, elegant and wearable setting that would showcase it perfectly. First we decided to bezel set the sapphire. This gives the sapphire maximum protection while highlighting it at the same time. The flat profile of the ring makes this one that absolutely can be worn day in and day out! The halo of diamonds surrounding the sapphire are very brilliant and sparkly and make the sapphire look even more beautiful than it did before it was set. There are 32 brilliant cut round diamonds set around the sapphire and 5 on each side of the band. This amazing ring just couldn't have a plain band and so it has been engraved with a beautiful pattern on three sides. The engraving extends about 3/4 of the way around the ring.
